Benefit from optimal glove integrity, and maximum peace of mind.
Key Features of RAVONA R.A.B.S Systems
Integrated FFU (Filter Fan Unit – Active R.A.B.S): RAVONA’s active R.A.B.S systems use integrated FFU, allowing to cover the critical area of the filling zone, homogenously, and allowing to control the air speed in the system according to the set point settled in the HMI of the system.
Robust Barrier Design: Whether open or closed, RAVONA R.A.B.S systems feature a robust barrier design that minimizes the risk of contamination and allows for safe access to materials via glove ports.
Continuous Monitoring: Real-time monitoring systems track critical parameters such as temperature and humidity, to ensure that the R.A.B.S environment meets all necessary aseptic standards and regulatory requirements.
Modular and Customizable: We offer customizable R.A.B.S solutions to meet your exact process requirements. From single workstation setups to full-scale multi-line production systems consisting filling machines, and lyophilizers integrations, RAVONA designs systems that integrate seamlessly into your production workflow.
Types of R.A.B.S Systems
Active R.A.B.S systems are equipped with active airflow management to maintain a Grade A (ISO 5) environment inside the system. These systems use positive pressure and HEPA filtration to ensure that contaminants are efficiently filtered out of the air before it enters the work area, creating a clean and aseptic environment.
Active R.A.B.S are ideal for applications where strict aseptic conditions must be maintained, such as in fill and finish processes and aseptic processing.
Passive R.A.B.S systems rely on natural airflow to maintain aseptic conditions, with passive barriers and minimal air pressure control. These systems are more suitable for environments where contamination risks are lower, but still require a physical barrier to isolate operators from sensitive processes. While they do not actively filter air like active R.A.B.S, they are an economical option for smaller-scale aseptic processes or environments with less stringent contamination control needs.
Closed R.A.B.S systems provide complete physical separation between the operator and the aseptic environment. This design features sealed barriers that are fully enclosed, with controlled access points for gloves or manipulators. In closed R.A.B.S, there is no direct access to the internal working area, minimizing the risk of contamination from external sources. Closed systems are highly beneficial for high-risk operations such as handling potent materials, cell and gene therapies, or sterility testing where contamination control is critical.
Open R.A.B.S systems have a barrier that separates the operator from the product, but the internal area remains more accessible, allowing operators to work inside the system through glove ports or open access points. These systems are suitable for applications where aseptic conditions are important but allow for more flexibility and easier access than fully closed systems. Open R.A.B.S are ideal for environments where operators need to interact with materials more frequently, such as in small-scale filling, freeze-drying integration, and cell culture work.
